WASH in Primary Schools
Successfully working with the County Ministries of Education and Health in the delivery of our WASH project to help 67 primary schools build their own knowledge and capability with the following outcomes:.
44,658 school children provided with WASH education.
1050 Board of Management members educated and empowered in their roles and responsibilities under the Kenya Standards & Guidelines for WASH Infrastructure in Primary Schools in Kenya.
67 Head Teachers and 77 Teacher Health Champions educated and empowered in their roles and responsibilities under the Kenya Standards & Guidelines for WASH Infrastructure in Primary Schools in Kenya.
67 teachers and 134 students trained to set up and run School Health Clubs
67 School Health Clubs taught how to make liquid soap for hand washing using locally available products.
80% reduction in stomach illnesses due to waterborne diseases
Absenteeism significantly reduced due to improved student health and reduced MHM related issues.
40 hand washing tanks supplied to 20 primary schools.
